Food Allergies and Dietary Needs
The Hotchkiss Dining Services takes food allergies very seriously. Many students and staff are sensitive to nuts, gluten, dairy and other foods, and we try to accommodate those needs whenever possible. If you have any special dietary requirements or concerns we recommend that you meet with Dining & Health Services. Please contact one of our managers for further assistance at extensions 3238, 3237 & 3754.
Finding your favorite foods on campus is easy. We are proud to offer a dining program complete with signature brands and menu selections that include just about every item you can imagine. Just feast your eyes on what we have available!
Our farm to table dining hall has a wide variety of choices from around . From our homemade soups and stocks, fresh baked muffins and scones from Bread Alone and an organic hot steel cut oatmeal bar. 90% of the fruit vegetables, and livetock raised at the Hotchkiss farm, Fairfield Farms,is prepared and served by our dining services. The salad bar features 100% organic mesclun, romaine and spinach along with, fresh organic hummus, produce from the Hudson Valley, Berkshire County and our campus farm and gardens in season. You are bound to find something to please you. The deli offers include house roasted beef, house smoked turkey or pastrami, pastured ham, farm grown (nut-free) pesto chicken. Additionally we have Cabot cheddar and house made spreads with 100% whole wheat and whole grain bread available. Hamburgers and hot dogs are always grassfed and sometimes grain finished beef, antibiotic & hormone free and come from the most local source. Sunday brunch features house cured Wild Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon or homemade or Niman Ranch bacon. The Dining Hall also has a large beverage bar of fruit infused waters and brews Harney and Sons iced tea daily. The desserts are balanced and sometimes replaced with fruit salad or frozen yogurt to help promote a healthy eating lifestyle. Fresh fruit is abundant and readily available in between meals and during meal hours.
New this year is our commitment to Gestation Crate Free, Antibiotic Free and pastured pork. Including Hotchkiss raised, Lucki 7 Livesotck, Niman Ranch and Applegate Farms.
We're now tracking our sustainable purchases through The Real Food Challenge using their Real Food Calculator. The Hotchkiss School administration became the ninth signatory, and first high school in the country, to commit to the Real Food Pledge.

Our Real Food Board has approved its audit for this year and is awaiting training from the our RFC representative.
From your favorite snacks to grilled items like our famous Bearcat Burger, the Snack Bar is the place to enjoy food and catch up with friends. The Snack Bar is open in between meals while the Dining Hall is closed to make sure you can get something to eat throughout the day.
